In 2015, by pure chance, I spent my vacation with my family in Albania. On the way, we made a stop in Macedonia. I knew nothing about either country. But after returning, I was so fascinated that I immediately applied for a master’s program in Balkan studies.

I fell in love with the Macedonian language and was equally captivated by Albanian. The following summer, I returned to Albania, this time as a tour guide. After the season ended, I moved to Macedonia to start researching the potential of tourism in solving conflict.
Around that time, I also started the blog Do Macedonii (To Macedonia, in Polish, my native language).
